Class offerings 2023:
Art and Science of Herbal Tea, Thursday, October 12th, 6-7:30 pm
The coolness of fall invites the coziness of tea time indoors. Join us as we discuss the best way to brew different herbs (e.g., infusion, decoction) and tips for designing herbal tea blends to be both medicinally active and pleasing to drink. You’ll go home with two tea blend samples we create in class that support respiratory, digestive, and immune system health and a new appreciation for this ancient healing tradition. Class held at Salty at Heart Apothecary, Friday Harbor, Washington. Make sure to pre-register!
Elderberry Syrup and Winter Health w/Herbs, Saturday, October 14th, 3-5 pm
Learn to craft your own elderberry syrup and other medicines to support immune and respiratory health throughout the winter. In this hands-on class, we will discuss the immune-boosting and respiratory healing properties of several popular local herbs and make fresh elderberries into a delicious and medicinal syrup to take home. Please bring materials for medicine making: two small jars (4-8oz) and enough honey to fill one of them. Held on San Juan Island, Washington. Exact location TBA upon pre-registration.
